Had breakfast at this local restaurant while visiting from the states. Delicious and locally sourced peoduce. Great location. Friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!

Wasn't too thrilled. They were out of burgers when I stopped by so I changed my order and side. Fair enough I guess. Side never arrived. Server never stopped during my meal to ask if everything was alright. The food was fine. Certainly not life changing but decent enough. But 15$ for a grilled cheese sandwich with fancy onions is quite overpriced IMO. Overall I thought the service was quite poor and the food decent but extremely overpriced. Doubtful I'll be back.

I am a bit conflicted when it comes to this establishment as there are many good and bad aspects of dining here. For the good - the food is excellent and the staff are friendly, with various appetizing items to choose from. For the bad - the menu is overpriced, and the general atmosphere in the restaurant is best described as tense. The entire time we were there, it appeared as if the manager was trying to micromanage every aspect of the service, putting all of the staff on edge and eventually putting us on edge as well.

Best breakfast and brunch on the North Shore! Eggs benny on homemade biscuits, Omelet heaven and the coffee is a full bodied, rich roast. The decor is really well thought out and the staff are friendly and attentive. Absolutely top shelf!

We cannot say enough about Douce Diner!!! Have been here several times as it's in our neighbourhood, but it's not just for locals...some guests of ours from the UK said it was the thing they missed most about Canada! Our guests today said that the eggs benny was the best they have ever had!! I shared a panko chicken sandwich with my.teenager, and we were both stuffed, so the portions are ample. Highly highly recommend this new restaurant /diner.

I was famished and this place came through in a BIG way. Every detail is thought through in the space and menu which made for a delicious and fun lunch. There were even TWO sets of identical twins working here that day. What?! No joke. True story. Anyway, highly recommend. Great food and value. 🧡 Will definitely be back.

After the hype surrounding this new eatery I was really disappointed. The aesthetic and vibe is exactly what the North Shore and this part of North Vancouver needs but the food was a bit woeful. Between three of us we tried three different dishes and were left a bit flat after coming in with higher expectations. Check it out for yourself, I'm a fan of their milkshakes. It's a fun spot to eat and hopefully you have a better dining experience than I did!

Lovely spot! Had a business breakfast there on a Friday morning, and the food and service were awesome. The romesco sauce was particularly memorable (wanna share the recipe?)! We got there at 8:30 and there was plenty of space, but as we were leaving it was definitely hopping! Looking forward to my next visit.

Enjoyed a lunch with a couple of friends. I had the omelette and it was great. Dawn the owner came over and introduced herself to us and checked up on us later. The food was tasty, staff was friendly and efficient and the diner was super clean. Love the 50's decor. Highly recommended. We'll be back!

Great food and service. I really enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich with caramelized onions, in fact it smelled so good that i ate half of it before i even managed to take a photo for this post. I really enjoyed the updated retro look with antique lighting and a cool 50's modern inspired style.The service was superb with the staff being very attentive and helpful, my water was never empty for longer than a few seconds and the food came out in less than 5 min even though it was quite busy. If you only have a short lunch break, this place gets it done.

This is a great little find in North Vancouver. The ambience is amazing!! I loved everything about the way this cool spot was decorated. From the tiles to the lights to the servers aprons. Every little detail appointed beautifuly!! The coffee was delicious and the Chicken and Waffles super tasty.

Every little thing about this place is 5 stars! The food, service, atmosphere, and cleanliness were all fantastic! Even sitting at the bar was comfortable! There are so many details that all lead to great experienceI had the French toast, which was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented, and my friend had the breakfast sammy, which she was swearing was the best she's ever had in between mouthfulls!Also highly recommend the coffee which both of us bought a pound!So happy to have such a great place in the neighborhood! Had brunch here today - the staff was lovely, the food was delicious and the decor/ambiance were very on point. Would strongly recommend to anyone who 1. loves diners, 2. wants to try a great new spot on the North Shore or 3. just like really really good food and a nice vibe

It’s April 2020 - we’re all locked in our houses - and these amazing people are keeping their doors open to serve takeout chicken dinners for families. We’re two big people and one little person, ordered the Douce Coop 2-pack, and feasted like kings on absolutely amazing fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits that LITERALLY taste like the ones Mom used to make, and wicked tasty homemade hot sauce - fries and coleslaw to top it all off.Great comfort food in a time when we need it most. Do yourself a favour and go get this.

Just had brunch at Douce and we all really enjoyed the experience. A little loud, but the noise adds to the diner ambiance. I was very impressed with the service - at one point the server delayed bringing me my fresh squeezed OJ because the glass was too hot. He made a point of putting it in the freezer for me before bringing it out...nice touch! Observing one of the owners carefully guiding a disabled patron to her seat was also a nice touch. Super hosting everyone!

Standing by my first review for breakfast - too little food for too much money. I went back for lunch after a friend suggested I give it a second chance. the lunch was very good. A huge burger and delicious fries for $15. The burger was really good, and the field greens salad was very nice.Breakfast was cold and not very tasty. The place was really busy, and didn't have enough servers. Another local cafe, Jerry's was closed, so people were going here instead. The table next to me complained as well - too expensive, not as good. A glass of juice was $5. The 2-egg breakfast plate was $15. I won't go back.

Ordered the Salmon Benny with hash browns for lunch plus coffee. Benny and browns were very tasty. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food came promptly and eggs were just right (medium) as ordered. Ambiance is that of a new diner with a comfortable retro 50’s sort of style. Recommend!

Well this was a very pleasant surprise. FINALLY someone who can prepare an omelette to perfection. We had the most delicious breakfast, excellent service and the "head food mechanic" came to greet us to ensure our meal was what we expected. The decor is absolutely adorable! Can't wait to go back and try the lunch menu.

A great local brunch spot. Their banoffee milkshake was tasty and not overly sweet, it would be worth it just to go back for another one. Had their chicken and waffles, the portion size was just right and the gravy served on the side completed the dish perfectly. Also ordered a side of their baked beans, they had a nice balance of spice and sweetness from the accompanying BBQ sauce. Service was super fast, we were there around noon and our food was out at our table within a few short minutes. It's a small cozy spot with delicious and reasonably priced food.

Very friendly atmosphere with great breakfast and lunch food. Small and cozy, beautiful space. They use top quality ingredients in deliciously simple recipes. The price is just right as well. My favourite new breakfast place for sure!

Douce is a must-visit in North Van! The decor is delightful — a modern take on a classic vintage diner. It's both cozy and chic at the same time. The food was as lovely to look at as it was to devour! I'll definitely be back.

Came here a few minutes before they closed and they were nice enough to still let us get a coffee and sit inside for 15 minutes — how nice!!! I had a vanilla latte & it was soooo good. Definitely coming back to try more delicious treats on their menu!

Oh my God what a gem in the neighbourhood. Amazing Hollandaise sauce from scratch. I can't tell you how great this place is you just have to go and see. Trust me you will not be disappointed. There's only one thing I would suggest and that's if they got more comfortable chairs. Other than that it's perfect!!

Open until 3 pm, a great spot for breakfast and lunch. Attractive location, friendly efficient staff and carefully prepared food, using the best ingredients. Bread from North Van's Bad Dog Bakery, the place where flour is milled from organic grains grown in BC. Douce is merely the best diner on the North Shore.

Fantastic spot! I almost don’t want to share this, as I don’t want brunch to get any busier... but it’s really great. Awesome people, friendly service, clean/stylish interior, and amazing food! The eggs Benny is stellar - on a fresh biscuit! The omelet is also fantastic, French style with perfectly smooth eggs and Boursin cheese inside. Lots of great milkshakes and boozy coffee options too. Take your crew!

You can get a Beautiful breakfast or brunch here highly recommend eggs benny.

Soooooo delicious. Great cup of coffee to start - mum had the french onion grilled cheese and beet soup, I had an avocado benny + salad and both were absolutely killer. Will come back for sure. Friendly service and cool atmosphere, shiny clean kitchen.

Great service and nice clean restaurant, the omelette was nice and only the price of the OJ seemed a little too steep ($5 for a small glass)

I have been here 5 times now and the survice is great the food is fenominal. They have the best burger I have had in a long time. There breakfast is very good as well.

Food was good! However, portion sizes are quite small. Had to order additional sides to fulfill my hunger and the menu is very expensive. Tomahawk has food that is equally as tasty with great portions and price. Also, was not surprised to see a previous comment about the tense environment. Manager/head chef definitely overly micro-manages. Felt very “on edge” and unwelcome as guests.

Really cute cozy diner, delicious healthy food. Got the Double Douce Burger and Homemade Granola. Locally sourced greens, RWA beef, exquisite crispy brioche bun. Beautiful yogurt and home made lemon curd fusion, and fresh mint in granola!

Best Benny I’ve ever had! I’m not usually a huge fan of biscuits but these were amazing. Service was great, my order was a little complicated but our server Sarah got it perfectly!
